I'm researching the origins and use of a highland band song which was used by the 79th Cameron Highlanders of Winnipeg during WW!
The name of the song is Johnny Canuck, the words were done by Hugh Mackay, M.D. of Winnipeg and the music was provided by J.T. Cocking who was the bandmaster for the 79th Highlanders. I believe that the 79th Highlanders evolved into the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders.
