I worked at the airport with this fella for a some time until I changed jobs, golfed with him and stuff like that. I can't belive I used to make fun of him for wasting his money on those " stupid" tickets...lol.

Dartmouth man wins $15.4m lottery

DARTMOUTH - If John Graydon hadn't gone out for coffee last night, he'd still be a working stiff.
Instead, the 44-year-old man is about to quit his job. Travel to England. Golf the world. Maybe buy a boat. All because he bought a 6/49 ticket after his unauthorized coffee break Wednesday night - a split-second decision that won him and his family $15.4 million yesterday.
"I cleaned the floor with my tongue at first for about 10 minutes," Graydon said yesterday. "I had to get everybody up in the house, just to make sure that my eyesight hadn't gone that bad."
It couldn't have come at a better time. Graydon, an employee with Cara Operations at the Halifax International Airport, was laid off during October and November, and was facing a major cutback in his hours in January.
He and his girlfriend, Kerry Burgess, live in his parents' Dartmouth basement apartment. Ever since gas prices went up, he's been driving below the speed limit to save money on fuel.
For years, he's spent about $21 a week on lottery tickets.
"I couldn't even afford it, really. It just happened to pay off this time. It's pretty near up there to being a miracle."
Graydon nearly forgot to buy his usual ticket Wednesday night. After a coffee break, he stopped in at the Travelex at the airport, picked one up, and carried on with his life.
Six hours later, he was just getting up for a 4 a.m. shift when he decided to check his numbers online.
At 3:18 a.m., he realized his was the winning ticket.
He and his father hopped in the car and drove to Moncton to pick up their cheque.
Graydon made three lighthearted apologies to his boss via the media, first for taking the fateful coffee break, second for calling in sick citing a family emergency, and third for resigning without two weeks' notice.
He says he, Burgess, and his parents, Patrick and Joyce, will share the money.
They'll pay for his sister's three children to go to university, pay off their debts, and take a trip to England.
And, naturally, they'll do a little celebrating.
"We just have to figure out what country we're going to do it in."
Well I think I'm going to get some numbers and start playing them...........you never know!!!!
