Canadas Biggest Speed Bump!

With all the construction going on, "City of the brake light" is also true.  ;D

"Toronto EMS is on record as not supporting the installation of speed bumps (narrow asphalt
bumps consisting of a steep vertical rise). This traffic calming measure will affect an
ambulance's response time to an emergency call and subsequent transportation to the hospital.
This in itself could prove detrimental to the medical conditions of some patients.":

On the other hand, children struck at 20 mph instead of 40 mph would have a better chance of surviving the impact.

You know some of us do live and work here :'( :'(

It was exciting working for the City of Toronto.

I thought Hamilton was a suburb of Toronto.

If you can find me a Torontonian who feels that way, then by all means.....

Arguably Our Mayor and City Council are just as stupid as theirs...

So I can see where the confusion may lie.....  ;D

Okay, I found this one in an article about the ridiculous panic over Toronto's bed bug situation (actually, a hilarious read):

That would not surprise me one bit. ( Speed traps. Also Metro and OPP seat-belt traps at on-ramps. )
Also, the traffic situation in Toronto has become intolerable. If this city ever faced an emergency evacuation order, and outside help had to be called in. I believe it would total chaos. Especially if the subway lines were out of service.

Also, and I am just guessing, but I bet Toronto has about the worst traffic situation anywhere. If this city ever faced an emergency evacuation order, and outside help had to be called in. I believe it would total chaos. Especially if the subway lines were out of service.

Yes, that is exactly the sort of thing I mean.  Which raises the question, what if something unpredicted and major ever happened? Toronto has been spared since 1954 with Hurricane Hazel. Our Disaster Plan has never really been put to the test.
